  1. In every human culture there are always stories that explain how we got here, people make these stories to explain everything because we want to know everything because that is who we are, we want to know everything and how it works and when we don’t know some thing then we try to explain it. Although we are finding new ideas and theories on how we got here we still hold on to the stories that we were told so long ago and argues with anyone who thinks differently. Though out history people try to change, argue, and even caused wars because of different believes for explain the monkey trial where people were getting all upset because a teacher talked about evolution, creation stories have been around as long as humans have many centuries ago and they still have an impact on society today.
  2. From the creation stories of the Australian Aborigine and the Maori we can begin to tell what they values, for instance we can that they both valued male dominance because in the Maoris’ story there were 70 sons and they created one female and in the Australian Aborigines’ story Sun Mother was afraid and did what ever the Father of All Spirits said.
  3. Both Australian Aborigines and the Maori creation stories are different there are some similarities like in both there in rebellion and male dominance. But because they were from two areas separated by a large body of water they were some differences, for instance, the Aborigine believed there light in the beginning and the children were first animals and then people, while the Maori believed that there was darkness in the beginning, there were elemental children trapped between their parents, and overcoming difficult challenges.
  4. Theses stories show how the weather acts in violent forms as stated in the Maori Story how his brother took revenge for separating their parents. The winds blew and storms were created we see this even today with the tornados and other dangerous storms. In fact recently on February 22, 2011 Christ Church New Zealand had a devastating earth quake with a magnitude of 6.2 creating a lot of devastation to the city and it’s people. You could say the siblings were fighting and the earth opened a swallowed some of it’s people.
  5. There are many stories that explain how we came to be and the story I believe is the Theory of Evolution, how it effects my thinking by showing me that all life is similar and that we are animals just with bigger brains and we should use our brains to help the environment. We should help the Earth and better preserve the planet because we only have one Earth.

  1. Scott,

You offer some solid insight, but I can't help but feel the responses are rushed. There are numerous run-on sentences and other grammatical errors. You should remember to proofread! Some answers are underdeveloped, too. Response to the questions thoroughly.

I think your musings are interesting in response to question 1. Why do you think it is that we want to know everything? Why is it that we're really bothered by the unknown? I'm not quite sure, but these are questions that are as relevant today as they were when these creation stories were first made!

    Sincerely,

    Mr. Barry
    I think
